The composite hinge assembly has first and second fixed members secured to the leg pads, and first and second movable members comprised as hinge plates pivotally connected to each other and to the fixed members. Stop members limit rotation of the hinge assembly in both directions of rotation of the knee to limit rotation of the knee.

Wraparounds - These are more of a general support brace that wraps around the knee and usually straps in place using velcro or something similar. These can be worn while engaging in physical activity and often help with patellar injuries or patellar instability.

Compression Braces and Sleeves - This type of brace is often slim and easy to wear underneath clothing. They help with knee pain by providing support to the muscles and tendons in and around the knee. These can be worn all day or just during physical activity.

You indicated that your pain tends to occur during physical activity and your pain level is often determined by how strenuous the activity is as well as how active you are afterward. There are a few things you could try at home or after any activity the causes pain in your knee:
Ice - Try using ice packs on your knee after any activity that tends to cause you pain. The ice can help numb some of your pain but it will also help reduce any inflammation that may be happening inside your knee.
Elevation - If your knee bothers you at night try sleeping with your knee elevated. Doing this can help reduce pain the next day and alleviate some swelling if any occurs.
Stretch - It is always helpful to stretch both before and after physical activities. Doing this can help avoid future injuries and will often help reduce pain afterward.
